Valencia
Spain is a medium-sized port city on the Costa del
Azahar having a Mediterranean climate with warm dry summers
and mild winters. Valencia Spain City is a charming old city
that is well worth a visit. Valencia Spain is famous for its
Fallas festival in March. The other attarction is the massive
architectural project by Santiago Calatrava called ‘The
City of Arts and Sciences’. The weather in August is
extremely hot and humid. The fall months of September and
October see the weather permitting a lot of beach outings.
Winters witness relatively mild temperatures but tourists
generally find it a bit cold to sunbathe at the beach. Spring
is the loveliest time to visit the area and you will see life
at its sprightly best during this time on the streets.
Tourists generally book their accommodation in Valencia
in advance if visiting in March as this is festival time when
a fantastic festival called ‘Fallas’ known for
fireworks is celebrated. The fireworks convert the city into
a virtually war zone for a week. Tourists heading towards
a Valencia Gateway do so for its nightlife. There are numerous
restaurants, bars and dance joints in this area which tend
to cater to a youngish crowd. One can gather information on
the nightspots from the various Valencia Tourist Information
centers. Barrio Carmen is a major nightlife destination where
you come across popular night clubs such as ‘Radio City’playing
a variety of music and ‘Café Infanta’ which
is a bar and café having a terrace crowded with Hollywood
stuff. If you want to experiment with Valencia Recipe
try the local “Paella”. This is a tasty rice dish
which comes in a variety of styles, some with meat while some
come with fish or seafood. The Malvarosa beach area is one
area where you can get some authentic Paella made only with
fresh ingredients, in an iron special pan and using a fire
made with wood -not gas or electricity. |
